My Digital Story Project

Chapter 1: August

During the month of August I, like most everyone else here, experienced a significant shift in my life as I made the transition into becoming a full time college student. I came to ASU with an open minded skepticism for all the new experiences I was bound to have.

I remained skeptical of:

• My academic ability: I struggled a lot in High School and I worried I might not have what it takes to succeed in college
• My clasess: I was not looking forward to my CSE110 class becasue I had no interest in persuing computer science as a career, and felt as though this class would be useless to me.
• Making friends: Like so many students here, I had no friends upon my arrival here and was anxious that I might spend the entire semester cooped up in my room.

However, I decided to remain open minded about all these worries and take each day as it comes. I am so glad I kept my mind open to new experiences because these past four months have been wondeful in ways I never could have predicted.
